Why consider it

The Gold Coast offers what Brisbane cannot: Category 2 regional status, with its points and second 485, an hour from a major city. The trade-off is rent: the median for a one-bedroom flat was ₹41,200 (A$615) a week in the September quarter of 2026, against A$590 in Brisbane, because the city's tourism market competes for housing.
